Stay Put

Stay Put Icon-19.png

Stay Put aims to restrict movement during a short-term emergency in which it's necessary to keep an area clear of passersby. This could include a medical emergency, physical altercation, police investigation, verbal disturbance, loose animal, or other situations where you are safe but need to stay in your room or area.

What to do:

  • Stay in your current location, but otherwise go about business as usual.
  • Close doors and windows.
  • Await further instruction from Y-Alert, BYU Police, or university officials.
  • Stay in your designated room or area until given the "all clear."
  • Be patient and know that the situation will be resolved shortly.
